Lee Wise 90 Oblong died Friday January 18, 2002 at his residence. Born in Eddyville, Illinois on July 12, 1911 he was the son of George Washington Wise and Emma Wise. He was first married to Marquerite Barnett, then to Ruth Hinkle and then to Junia Gowan Gill. All preced him in death. On May 11, 1994 he married Mildred (Campbell)Kirk Newcomb. She survives. Lee was a member of Wesleyan Church in Oblong. He moved to Oblong in 1952 from Sumner, Illinois. He worked for Marathon Oil Company pulling rigs from 1952 until he retired on August 1, 1971. Lee's hobbies included coon hunting and his coon and bird dogs.

Lee is survived by his wife Mildred; 2 daughters and son-in-law Delaine Carman and Dorothy & Charles Sanson; 20 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; 2 step sons and stepdaughters-in-laws Jerry & Mary Cooper and Wendell & Midge Newcomb; 2 step daughters and step son-in-laws Evelyn & Joe Bliss and Carol & Bill Gosnell; daughter-in-law Margaret Wise. He is preceded in death by his parents, three wives, 1 son Donald Eugene Wise; 1 brother William Dee Wise and 1 Step daughter-in-law Cheryl Shaw.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery
